Betty Ruth "Glass" Williams

Betty Ruth Williams (Glass), age 82, of Wewahitchka, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 29th, 2024. She was loved by many and loved those around her with a fierceness second to none. Her legacy will live on in the loved ones she leaves behind. Betty Ruth was a Mama, Nanny, Aunt Bet, Nini Mama, and Nan Nan to a multitude of people in her community and once you were on her “good” side, you were considered family whether you were related by blood or not. This trait of hers makes listing those she has left behind much more difficult, but here are a few of her favorites: Lynette, Ann, Lisa, Jennifer, Mikael, Mekena, Patrick, Ahriana, Dustin, Renee, Payton, McCoy, Tony, Jenn, Jason, Rachel, Ella, Ava, Mark, Matthew, several great grand kids, and last, but not least, her all-time favorite, Josh.

Betty was a determined, loving soul with a streak of delightful craziness. She rarely complained and always found a way to bring smiles, even in tough times, with her silly songs and quirky sayings. Instead of dwelling on sadness, Betty Ruth embraced joy and laughter.

To honor her spirit, we invite you to a celebration of her life graveside at Roberts Cemetery on Thursday, April 4th, at 4:00 pm CST.

After the service, join us at the Homer House, located at the Taunton Family Children's Home, to share food and stories. Betty loved nothing more than hearing her “people” having fun around her, so come and celebrate the life of our beloved “Nanny” with laughter and love.
