Glenda Joyce Moses

August 20, 1946 — February 28, 2024

Glenda Joyce Moses, 77, of Apalachicola was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and took great pride in telling others she was from “Two Mile”. She was born on August 20, 1946, in Jay Florida to the late James Arliss Simmons and Essie Louise Nowling Simmons. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

Glenda was of the Christian faith and attended Living Waters Assembly of God when able. She was multi-talented and enjoyed painting, sewing, crocheting, and was always looking forward to trying her hand at new crafts. One might even call her a Craft Connoisseur, but she was best known for her baking skills. In her free time, she watched cooking shows and passed her knowledge on to those around her. She was always eager to learn and share new techniques, at any age.

From early on, her devotion to family was evident. She offered kindness and grace to those around her. This devotion only grew with time, as her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She exuded a love that will last a lifetime and leaves behind a legacy to be proud of.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lovett Moses and Otis Newell; one son, Mark “Runt” Moses; one brother, James Aubrey Simmons and one grandson, Johnathan Harris.

Glenda is survived by two daughters, Tammie Cline of Apalachicola, Florida, and Tonia Johnson (Vincent) of Cairo, Georgia; two sisters, Jeanie McLaurin (Johnnie) of Apalachicola, Florida and Kathryn Young (Richard) of Athens, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jayde Harris, Jayce Harris, Natasha Cline, Terress Martina, Marcus Moses, Chandler Moses, and Tanner Moses. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
