James Thomas Mainor, Jr. , 43 of Wewahitchka, passed away on January 31, 2024. James was born February 10, 1980 in Panama City, Florida. James spent nearly a decade as a correctional officer, both with the state of Florida and Bay County. After leaving corrections, he enjoyed self employment; primarily in the amusement vending industry. James was quick witted, strong willed and opinionated. He was a die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan, traveling to several games each year. He was tough as nails, strong as an ox and often outspoken, but his soft spot was undoubtedly his two daughters, Bailey Renee Mainor (16) and Grace Kathleen Mainor (10). He loved spending time with his children, giving them their heart’s desires and everything he ever did, was in hopes of creating a better life for them. He was an excellent cook, hilariously funny and loved his girls more than anything else. He had a larger than life personality and a big heart under a tough exterior. He will never be forgotten by those that were privileged enough to know the real James. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in James’ name to the National Children’s Cancer Society; a charity James supported for years. A private scattering ceremony will be held at a later date. For I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice and no one will take your joy away from you. John 16:22 Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation Services inWewahitchka, FL.
