John Rogers Grice Jr. lifelong resident of Wewahitchka, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the age of 63. He was born on March 23, 1961 to the late John Rogers Grice Sr. and Susie Estelle Jenks Grice. As a young man, John enjoyed playing men’s softball and was an avid FSU fan. He always looked forward to shooting a game of pool or going fishing, but his favorite past time was working on old cars and trucks.
John was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kevin Andrew Grice; three sisters, Linda Gail Chumney, Judy Knowles, Mary Priss Pickron and husband Norman Pickron; one brother, Tommy Chumney and a special K-9 companion, “Pache”.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Tammy Grice of Wewahitchka; two daughters, Brooke Rachelle Grice and Joni Mae Grice, both of Wewahitchka; one brother, Charles Grice of Wewahitchka; three sisters, Betty Sue Britt of Wewahitchka, Norma Jean Dunkle of Jacksonville, and Ann Lucas (Steve) of Wewahitchka; two grandchildren, Bentley River Grice Brake and Zoey Mae Grice Brake, both of Wewahitchka; one adopted grandson, Oliver Roger Ortiz of Wewahitchka and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Covenant/Vitas Hospice, especially his nurse, his niece, his confidant, his angel, Britney Grice Nunnery, we could not have made it through this without her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the home of Tammy Grice ( 566 Catalpa Street, Wewahitchka, Florida 32465) from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Central Time.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port Saint Joe, FL.
