Roy Lavern Causey Sr. age 78 of White City, Florida passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 in Panama City, Florida. He was born on January 1, 1945 in Wewahitchka, Florida and spent his life in Gulf County where he worked as an equipment operator for the county for over thirty years before retiring. Roy was a proud Veteran in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed being on the houseboat, laying in a hammock on the riverbank, going to the Smokey Mountains and fishing. Roy was also a big collector of model trucks. The most important thing to Roy was his family. He looked forward to spending time grilling out for his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy Causey and Hattie Elouise Jenks Causey; grandson, Calvin Ray Causey; great-grandson, Zayden Brown, and one brother in law, Mike Ludlam.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mrs. Faye Causey of White City, Florida; four children, Richard Allen Causey of White City, Florida, Roy Lavern Causey Jr. (Susan) of Altha, Florida, Christopher Causey (Kassidy) of Wewahitchka, Florida, and Kelly Causey of White City, Florida; two brothers, Eddie Causey (June) of Wewahitchka, Florida and Charles Lee Causey (Wanda) of Blountstown, Florida; one sister, Mollie Ludlam of White City, Florida, twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Roberts Cemetery in Wewahitchka, Florida with Brother Johnny Collins officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
