Albert Stephen Magness Jr.

November 16, 1950 — December 30, 2022

Albert Stephen Magness died unexpectedly in the early morning hours of December 30, 2022 from cardiac arrest. He was 72.


Albert is survived by his sons, Brian Patrick (Kristyn) and Matthew Christopher and three grandchildren, Brian, Nathan and Colin. He will be missed by his devoted companion, Belinda Brown and his loyal canine rescue, Ruger, who was a constant by his side. His memory will be cherished by his sisters Peggy Heaps (Cletus), Kathleen Hanna and Teresa Magness.


Albert was predeceased by his parents, Albert S. and Mary M. Magness, sister Barbara A. Lawder and brother, John R. Magness.


His memory lives on with his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews and cousins.


Albert, an Army veteran, was fiercely patriotic and was proud to be of service to his country. He enjoyed more solitary pursuits such as driving his motorcycle, tending his garden, woodworking, and tinkering on cars. Albert was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the Florida Gators in his spare time.


Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, (2001 Monument Avenue, Port St. Joe, FL) followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M.. Burial will be at Holly Hill Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the parish hall.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Joseph Catholic Church. His tender heart of this world may have failed, but his memory will lovingly endure through the hearts that he touched. He will be missed.
