Alfred Vincent Myers Jr.

Alfred Vincent Myers Jr. age 71 of Cottondale, Florida passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Alfred was born in Welch, Virginia on September 19, 1951 to the late Alfred Vincent Myers Sr. and Margaret Castle Myers. Alfred had a great work ethic and a passion for cattle. He spent most of his life as a dairy farm manager and truck driver in Okeechobee, Florida until moving to Jackson County in 2019. He loved bass fishing at one of his favorite spots, Lake Okeechobee. In his older years, while spending time with his best friend Lucky, he enjoyed crossword puzzles with a cup of Folgers black silk coffee. Alfred’s best days were spent spending time with his special nieces and nephews, Callianne, SJ, Easton and Jax.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virgie Glennon and Drema Walker; two brother-in laws, Pat Glennon and Joe Walker; four nephews and one niece.

Alfred is survived by two sisters, Abby Whitehead (Shannon) of Cottondale, Florida and Joyce Ann Myers of Okeechobee, Florida; two brothers, JJ Myers and Scratch Myers (Debbie), all of Okeechobee, Florida and a host of many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Pine Ridge Baptist Church (3064 Pine Ridge Church Road, Alford, Florida 32420) on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. Central Time with Pastor Freddy Foran officiating. Interment will follow at Vickery Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 P.M. Central Time.

Serving as pallbearers will be JJ Myers, Dustin Whitehead, Justin Whitehead, JW Clark, Joseph Yates, “Jabo” Tyler Harris, and Zack Monroe.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
