Andrew Clayton Sheppard

Andrew Clayton Sheppard age 16, of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born in Panama City, Florida on February 15, 2007. He grew up in Port St. Joe where he attended school and was going into his junior year. He would have been a graduate of the Class of 2025. From the young age of seven, Andrew loved football. He played from Gene Raffield Football League all the way up to Port St. Joe High School Varsity team where he wore the #6 proudly. Andrew was a natural athlete and was voted by his senior teammates for the “Big Shoes Award”. He was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” fan, enjoyed weightlifting, fishing, eating seafood, and spending time with his friends and family. Andrew had a heart for animals, especially his beloved dog, Bella. He was known as a great friend in the community and an even better little brother to his siblings whom love him dearly. He had a smile that lit up every room he walked into.


He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald “Pop” Raffield and his maternal and paternal great-grandparents.


Andrew is survived by his mother, Heather Raffield of Port St. Joe, Florida; father, Alphonso Sheppard of Panama City, Florida; siblings, Savannah Gibson, Brooklyn Sheppard, Alyson Sheppard all of Port St. Joe, Florida, Alshonda Sheppard of Augusta, Georgia, and Bianka Sheppard of Jacksonville, Florida; maternal grandparents, Tommie Jo Sharratt (Gregory) of Howard Creek, Florida and Peggy Raffield of Port St. Joe, Florida; paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Sheppard of Waynesboro, Georgia and Thomas Sheppard (Connie) of Waynesboro, Georgia; four uncles, Andre Sheppard, Thomas Sheppard Jr., Demaien Sheppard all of Waynesboro, Georgia and Bryan Norton (Kim) of St. Joe Beach, Florida. Andrew is also survived by a numerous cousins and a host of friends.


Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time at the Port St. Joe High School gymnasium on Saturday, May 27, 2023 with Pastor Sandy Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Rest Cemetery in Overstreet.


A public visitation for friends and family will be held from 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time until 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time at the Port St. Joe High School gymnasium on Friday, May 26, 2023.
