Bernice M. Whitfield

Bernice M. Whitfield age 87 of Wewahitchka, Florida passed in Panama City, Florida on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was born in Caryville, Florida on February 26, 1935 and spent most of her life in Gulf County where she worked in the seafood industry shucking oysters. Bernice enjoyed watching westerns on TV and loved going out to eat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Henry Lee and Omie Sellers Lee; four children, David Glass, Juanita Sanders, Chris Glass, and Edith Ann Sanders; three siblings, Vera Mae Hudson, James Blackmon, and Clarence Blackmon.

Bernice is survived by two children, Theresa Williams of Wewahitchka, Florida and Henry Whitfield of Georgia; one sister, Shirley Williams of Highland View, Florida and best friend Peggy Jo Stripling. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Buckhorn Cemetery in Wewahitchka, Florida with Sister Arlene Carr officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Central Time.
