Betty Jean Skipper Bradley went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2023, at her home. She was born to Richard Skipper and Inez Mayo Murphy on October 5, 1947.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dennis, her parents, her sister Brenda Burkett and a niece, Jena Burkett.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Bradley; niece, Kimberly Smith; nephew, Ritchie Burkett; brother-in-law Eugene Burkett; great nieces and nephews; Jarod and Mariah Smith, Samantha, Savannah and Madison Burkett; her Aunt, Ruby Coleman; cousins, Janet Johnson and Bill Johnson and her best friend of 62 years, Linda Wood.
After graduating from Port St. Joe High School in 1965, Betty went to work at St. Joseph Telephone and Telegraph as a long distance operator. She later transferred to the service department as a dispatcher and later to assignment and switch input . After leaving the company in 1999, she worked at the Gulf County Supervisor of Elections office, until her death. Betty and Dennis were avid Port St. Joe Shark fans, rarely missing a football or basketball game. They loved the Smokey Mountains and enjoyed camping at Arrowhead campground with their circle of camping buddies. Betty was a gracious and kind Christian woman who loved her Lord, she worshipped at Highland View Baptist Church.
Her pastor, James Younis will officiate at services which will be held on Friday, June 3, 2023 at Holly Hill Cemetery pavilion, Port St. Joe Florida. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., the service will follow at 11:00 a.m. EST.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
