Betty Jo Holmes, longtime resident of Donaldsonville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born on July 13, 1944 and spent most of her childhood in Wewahitchka, Florida. She married the love of her life, Wayne Holmes on April 17, 1964. Betty was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, cooking and being at home spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rossie Sheresh and step father, George Sheresh.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Wayne Holmes of Donaldsonville, Georgia; two daughters, Karen Crossno (Paul) of Donaldsonville, Georgia and Lynn Moffett (Shaun) of Columbus, Georgia; two grandsons, Matthew Holmes (Tiffany) and Michael Holmes.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Central Time on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Buckhorn Cemetery in Wewahitchka, Florida with Pastor David Martin officiating.
