Brian William Evers

EVERS, BRIAN WILLIAM 86 YEARS OLD Passed away March 14th, 2022, after a short illness. Born January 18th, 1936, the 10th child of Grace (Charles) & Henry Evers. During World War 2, at age 3, he was evacuated to Wales until he was 7, then reunited with his family, who had relocated to Wickford, Essex. Brian served 5 years in the Royal Air Force. Married at 21 to Sylvia (Mees) for 64 ½ years. Making their home in the USA in 1968. He was a Plant Manager/ Director of Operations at Permanent Magnet Company in Indianapolis, Indiana for 30 years, retiring to Florida in 1998 Brian was a member of The British American Club in Indianapolis. Brian loved many sports. He was an avid golfer most of his life. He loved British soccer, Arsenal was his favorite “Go Gunners”. Youth baseball, he spent many years coaching. Indy 500 and Formula One racing were among his favorites as well. Brian also served as a volunteer at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Gulf for several years. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia, three of his four children, Michelle Hicks (Kevin), Andrea Brown, Darren Evers (Sabrina) and the late Leroy Evers. Six grandchildren, Tabitha (Darius), Aaron, Lindsey, Miranda, Gavin and Sydney. Three great-grandchildren, Naomi, Olivia and Baby Mary. Cremation will be handled by Comforter Funeral Home. A small memorial service will be held later, as well as a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and Cancer Research UK.
