Charles Devaughn "Vaughn" Roberts

January 6, 1942 — July 10, 2024

On July 10, 2024, Charles DeVaughn Roberts entered the gates of Heaven following a courageous battle with cancer.

Vaughn was born in Tifton, Georgia on January 6, 1941 and had fond memories of growing up in Georgia, spending time with his sibling and cousins. He moved to Port St. Joe, Florida in 1972 and lived the remainder of his life between

Port St. Joe and Wewahitchka.

Vaughn served in the United States Army from 1959-1963, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. Once in Florida, Vaughn worked as Parts Manager at the Ford dealership in Port St. Joe, General Foreman at Apalachicola Northern Railroad, and finally as a Sergeant in the Florida Department of Corrections, which he retired from in 2020.

Vaughn enjoyed spending his time traveling, riding country roads, listening to music (especially his favorite musician, Kid Rock), and he loved Christmas time and spending time with his family.

Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Doris Roberts, his brother Wayne, and his wife Janet.

Vaughn leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Kimberlin; his daughter, Kimberly (Ron); his son, Jeff (Rachel), his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister, Judy (Ike), nieces, nephews, cousins, his two precious dogs, Sunny and Lady Bug, and many close friends.

While our hearts are broken, we know that Vaughn is celebrating in Heaven, where his body is healed and made whole once again.

Per the request of Vaughn, there will be no service or visitation.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida
