Charles Peter Wilson better known as Pete aged 64 of Apalachicola, FL passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. He was born in Apalachicola, FL on April 21, 1957 to Alma and Charles “Bud” Wilson. Pete spent his life on the water, and shared his passion with friends and family and professionally as an oysterman and charter boat captain. He also worked 10+ years at the Panama City paper mill. Pete knew all the best local fishing spots like the back of his hand. His fish stories, upbeat energy, and love for his family touched everyone around him. No one who ever met him left without knowing how much he loved being a father and "Papa Pete". He enjoyed fishing, Florida Gator football, spending time with his family, and beloved dog, Bo. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donnie Wilson, and nephew Justin Wilson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Madison Wilson, and stepdaughters Chelsey Walker and Megan Walker Helms; his grandsons, Cohen and Jace; his nieces and nephew; and many cousins. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Magnolia Cemetery at 11am Eastern Standard Time in Apalachicola, FL. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at Donna and Rusty Crum’s residence at 1 Wildflower Lane, Apalachicola,FL 32320. Pete’s finals wishes are for his ashes to be spread on the water he grew up on at the 8 mile marker in Apalachicola.
