Charles Thompson Radcliff

Charles Thompson Radcliff, 82, of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away November 12, 2023. He was born July 9, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia. Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.


He proudly served in the National Guard of Columbus, Georgia. He was a member of several civic organizations through the years including the South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department. He was a devoted parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port St. Joe.


Charles never met a stranger. He was blessed with the gift of gab and it served him well in all aspects of his life. He worked primarily in the construction industry and in sales.


His favorite pastime was riding his Harley followed closely by his love of cooking.


Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Williams Radcliff; his mother-in-law, Juanita Mouring of Port St. Joe, Florida; his daughter, Renee Radcliff Link (Mark) of Evans, Georgia; grandsons Marc (Haylee) Link of Macon, Georgia, Weston (Kasey) Link of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Christopher Link of Evans, Georgia, five great-grandchildren; brothers George Willis Radcliff, III of Columbus, Georgia, James Richard (Marie) Radcliff of Wedowee, Alabama; his sister Anne Radcliff Dawson (Charlie) of Atlanta, Georgia, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.


Charles was preceded in death by his parents, George Willis Radcliff, II and Mable Thompson Radcliff; his son Charles Thompson (Bud) Radcliff, II; his sister Patricia Radcliff of Columbus, Georgia; and nephew Michael Joseph Radcliff of Fayetteville, Georgia.


Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His positive attitude, generosity, and love for his family will be forever remembered.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 163, Port St. Joe, Florida 32457.


A Catholic funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11:00 EST, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of 20th Street and Monument Avenue, Port St. Joe. Visitation one hour prior to Mass.
