Charles Wayne Cloud

Charles Wayne Cloud, age 88, of Port St. Joe, Florida transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday,

July 26, 2022. He was born on February 4, 1934 to the late James and Vester Cloud. Charles spent his

childhood on the farm in rural Jackson County, Florida. After high school, he joined the United States

Army and proudly served his country for two years. Once Charles got out of the military, he married

the love of his life, Betty Mercer Cloud and they began their life in Port St. Joe, in 1957. He worked at

St. Joe Paper Mill for forty-two years before retirement. Charles loved the Lord and was a longtime

member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty Cloud; two sons, Steve Cloud (Laura) and

Greg Cloud; one brother, James Cloud; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time, on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Holly Hill

Cemetery with Dr. Boyd Evans officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund

(P.O. Box 568, Port St. Joe, Florida 32457) or to the Gideon’s International ( The Gideons International

Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251).

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
