Charlsey Y. King age 78 of Apalachicola, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2022. She was born on February 19, 1944 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late Rome Mealer and Dorothy Norris Mealer. Charlsey spent most of her life in Apalachicola where she raised her family and was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God. Charlsey had a heart of gold and a passion for helping others. She always took the time to check on family and friends and to help them, no matter what their needs were. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, as well as cooking and baking cakes for others. Charlsey adored and loved spending time with her family. She was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey King; sisters, Ivalea and Virginia Ann; one brother, Jerome. Charlsey is survived by her children, Carol Brown of Apalachicola, FL, Franklin King (Becky) of Apalachicola, FL, David King of Eastpoint, Florida, Monica Byrd of Eastpoint, FL, and Missy James (Mike) of St. Joe Beach, FL; one brother, Hayden Mealer of New York; one sister, Charlotte Gordie of Silver Springs, FL; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time in the Living Waters Assembly of God church in Apalachicola, FL with Pastor Scotty Lolley and Rev. Arthur Coulter officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday night, March 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM Eastern Time until 7:00 PM Eastern time at Living Waters Assembly of God. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
