Danny Lamar McGee age 58 of Port St. Joe, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Friday, December 6, 2024. He was born in Manhattan, New York on July 13, 1966 to the late James McGee and Edith Best.
Danny graduated from Port St. Joe Jr/Sr High, Class of 1984 and was a manager for the PSJ Football team. He attended Job Corp in Kentucky where he also was employed as a Security Guard. Danny also was employed with Sikes in Panama City, and Waste Management in Port St. Joe, Fl.
Danny enjoyed Westerns, rescuing animals, taking friends and the elderly to the store and doctor appointments. He was very gifted in building and maintenance work. Danny was applauded during Father Day editorial in the Panama News Herald when they captured him with his god-daughters and interviewed neighbors that knew him. Danny was loved dearly by his family and friends. Noted by his smile and great comedian stories.
Danny was preceded in death by his, father, James Me Gee; grandparents, Coleman and Ethel Griffin and Vera Fuller; great aunts/uncles, Charles and Murilee Davis, Robert and Mercedes Butler, Capers and Marien Allen, Jessie Dawson and Annie Lee Borders; aunts/uncles, Lucile Jackson, Annie Ruth Griffin, Cora Jane Williams, Sandra (Judy) Griffin, Mac Arthur Griffin; brothers, James (Red) McGee Jr., Michael Bowman McGee, Rodney Allen McGee; nephew, Rodney Allen McGee Jr.; niece, Yolanda McGee-Simmons; cousins, LaCora Williams, Tina Register and Darran Dawson.
Danny leaves to cherish his memories, special friend, Michelle Speights and God Daughters; mother, Edith Best; brothers, Pastor Dante (Lamonia) McGee, Andre (Arica) McGee, Douie (Christina) McGee; sister, Linda Fay (Josh) Washington, Bridgit (Craig) Collins and Tammy (Clyde) Gray; sister-n-laws, Jeanette McGee and Connie McGee; Uncle, Coleman Griffin Jr.; aunt, Sylvia Griffin Betts. Host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special families, Dawson, Fennell and Sims. Special friends, Pastor Chester Davis, Ricky Evans, Ricky Larry, Tan Smiley and Derrick Sims.
Services will be held at Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, December 14, 2024 with the visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time and the funeral at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time. Immediately following the funeral, Mr. McGee will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida
