Debra Christine Gay, 62 of Highland View, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her home. Debra was born the third child of seven to the late Henry Earl Darna and Irene Darna Culmer in Key West, Florida on July 3, 1960. She spent most of her childhood in the Keys, until her family moved to Port St. Joe in the mid seventies.
She had a love for the beach and sunshine. She loved cooking and had amazing baking skills. Everything she baked was just special. She loved trying out new recipes and having her loved ones taste them. It made her so proud to see them all enjoy what she had put so much love into. Debra was a DIE HARD Rolling Stones fanatic since she was a young girl and she finally got her wish to see them LIVE in 2018.
Her family was her absolute pride and joy. She loved them all very dearly, but had the biggest heart for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Tommy Vickery; grandson Ethan Bailey Lafountaine, and two sisters; Barbara Sue Nunery and Macheri Canington Slaton.
She is survived by her, three daughters, Bianca (Ivan), Shayla (Chris), and Brittany (Ellis) all of Port St. Joe, Florida; the father of her children Ronald Gay; her brother, Marvin Darna of Arcadia, Florida; sisters, Fonda Darna of Marianna, Florida, Jean Hysmith of Wewahitchka, Florida and Tina Shearer of St. Joe Beach Florida; twelve grandchildren, Jadia, Kelsey, Savannah, Landon, Camron, Kayleigh, Justice, Krissy, Farrah-Jade, Addison, Ellany, and Avery and one great grandson, Greyson. She is also survived by,, a special and loyal friend, Debra Watson.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 pm E.S.T on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida.
