Debra V. Fincher age 68 of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1956 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Morris Leonard Veitch and Ollie Veitch Barmore. Debra spent most of her life in Woodstock, Georgia where she worked as a dental assistant and homemaker. Debra and her husband moved to Gulf County thirteen years ago to enjoy their retirement by the ocean. Debra loved living in a coastal town where she could be in the sun, on the beach or out fishing. Debra was a member of Long Ave Baptist Church and looked forward to outings with her church family. She enjoyed shopping, talking and dining out with her many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Debra is survived by her loving husband of thirty-four years, Ben Fincher of Port St. Joe, Florida; one son, Benjamin David Fincher of Holly Springs, Georgia; and two daughters, Melinda Huff of Canton, Georgia and Lynn Merwin (John) of Woodstock, Georgia; three siblings, Angie Veitch of Summerville, Georgia, Ricky Barmore of Murphy, North Carolina, and Becky Topper of Ocala, Florida. Debra is survived by her three grandchildren as well; Eva Vega (Sam), Zakary Merwin, and Joesef Merwin (Sydney).
She is also survived by her beloved pup, “Jack”.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Long Ave Baptist Church with Pastor Eli Prine officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Long Ave Baptist Church in memory of Debra.
