Dwight Louis Lisenbee, born on September 20, 1941, in Opelika, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 82, in Port St. Joe, Florida. Surrounded by love and comfort, Dwight left this world after a long life filled with dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
Dwight is survived by his devoted wife, Christina Lisenbee, his son Keith Lisenbee, daughter-in-law Veronica Lisenbee, grandson Emilio Lisenbee, and his sister Pat Hall. He was a man who cherished and prioritized his family above all else, ensuring that they had everything they needed to thrive, whether through his work, wisdom, or endless support.
A proud veteran, Dwight served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea, embodying the values of discipline, courage, and selflessness that would continue to guide him throughout his life. Following his military service, Dwight applied his intelligence, determination, and strong communication skills across a wide range of occupations. From sales to business ownership, horse breeding, woodworking, and masonry, he pursued excellence in everything he did. His final job was at Home Depot in Panama City, where he earned the respect of his colleagues for his leadership, problem-solving abilities, and tireless work ethic.
Dwight will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments but also for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A private family service will be held to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Dwight’s name.
