Emmie Louise McCoy age 80 of Marianna, Florida went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 9, 2022. She was born in Ridge Springs, South Carolina on November 4, 1941 to the late Sidney Kirkland and Elise Pilot Kirkland. Emmie spent her adult life in Marianna where she worked and retired from Russell’s Sewing Factory as a seamstress. She was a devout Christian and an active member of Evangel Church. Emmie was a vital part of the church and the women’s ministry. She was also a member of the local Red Hat Society and enjoyed sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, James T. McCoy Sr.; one brother, Eugene Kirkland. Emmie is survived by her three children, Sally Blizzard (Kenny), James T. McCoy Jr. (Rose), and Rita Abbott (Ray) all of Marianna, Florida; six grandchildren, Crystal Page (Billy), B.J. Worley (Anna), Cindie McCoy, Starla Chance (Lucas), David McCoy (Kayla), and James Abbott; eight great-grandchildren, Elise, Hayleigh, Brian, Genevieve, Ayrabelle, Duncan, and Maddilyn Jaymes. She is also survived by her special friends, Carol Hall and Grace Chatwood. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Evangel Church in Marianna, Florida with Pastor Lavon Pettis officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the compassionate staff of Emerald Coast Hospice and Chipola Health & Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
