Evelyn Harcus or Nana, as everyone called her, age 90 of White City, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She a was a faithful wife and mother and was married to her late husband Murdic for sixty-one years. Evelyn worked many years with the Gulf County School System and Campbells Drug Store. She was devoted to her church where she served on many committees. Evelyn was a great cake baker and seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Elwanda Hammond and one son Dennis Harcus.
Evelyn is survived by one son; Donald Harcus and wife Donna of White City, Florida; five grandchildren, Leanna Cooper and husband David of Panama City, Florida, Michael Hammond of White City, Florida, Donald Wade of White City, Florida, Jeremy and Amberlynn of Smithfield, North Carolina, and Heather Kent and Terri of Panama City, Florida; five great-grand children, Gauge, Emily, Kayla, Andrew, and Lily and one great-great grandchild, Brynleigh. Many nieces, nephews, and friends are also left to mourn her passing.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time until 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time at the White City Baptist Church on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Friday, January 5, 2023 at Buckhorn Cemetery in Wewahitchka, Florida with Reverend Billy J. Rich officiating.
