Fred Clayton Anthony, of Apalachicola, Florida passed away in Tallahassee, Florida on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the age of 55. He was born in Apalachicola, Florida on May 31, 1967 to Delma Fred Anthony and Annette Braswell Anthony. He was the baby of his family and doted on by his parents and two older sisters. After graduating from Apalachicola High School, Fred started a family, having first a daughter and then a son. He moved to Georgia and bought a restaurant, that he ran for several years. He then changed careers, moved to Alabama, and went into the construction industry. Later, he returned to his home town of Apalachicola and has spent the last few years working in automotive parts retail.
Fred made great friends wherever he was throughout his life. He loved interacting with people and was fun to be around. He was quick with a joke and loved hearing them too. Fred enjoyed music and knew the words to almost every song and would sing in front of anyone. He loved boating, fishing, being a granddaddy, his daughter, family, friends. His favorite times were spending weekends with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, cooking amazing meals with his mother and sisters at family celebrations, and watching FSU football with family and friends. He was charming, funny, loving, and kind, and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delma Fred Anthony and his son, Clay Anthony.
Fred is survived by his mother, Annette Anthony (Jerry) of Crawfordville, Florida; a daughter, Heather Walden (Chip) of Bainbridge, Georgia; three grandchildren, Jaiden Belcher, Keagan Belcher, and River Walden all of Bainbridge, Georgia; two sisters, Janet Anthony of Woodville, Florida and Rhonda Traweek (Jim) of Crawfordville, Florida; a nephew, Andrew Traweek (Tessa) of Bend, Oregon; and a great nephew, Tate Traweek of Bend, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Apalachicola with Pastor Jeff Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the funeral.
