Fred Leroy Jones

Fred Leroy Jones age 94 of Port St. Joe, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born in Havana, Florida on September 28, 1930 and moved to Gulf County soon after grade school. Leroy loved God and attended church at Oak Grove Assembly of God for many years. He was dedicated to his job at the Florida Department of Transportation and retired after forty years of service. Leroy enjoyed eating and was known as a daily patron at Sister’s Bistro where he looked forward to socializing with everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilry Clay Jones and Myrtice Thelma Vickers Jones; four brothers, Russell Jones, Bill Jones, Troy Jones, James Jones and one sister, Ruth House.

Leroy is survived by one niece, Vikki House of Port St. Joe, Florida; three nephews, Robert House of Port St. Joe, Florida, Willie House (Rhonda) of Wewahitchka, Florida, and Dale Patton (Angela) of Alaska; three great nieces, Sarah, Cassidy, Jessica, and four great nephews, Stephen, Randall,  Allen and Zachary.

Services will be held at Oak Grove Church in Port St. Joe, Florida on Monday, November 11, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time and the service at 11:00 A.M. Mr. Jones will be laid to rest privately at Woodland Cemetery in Havana, Florida.
