Hazel J. Marie Gill

Hazel J. Marie Gill age 81 of Panama City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Apalachicola, Florida. She was born in Lake City, Arkansas on August 7, 1940. Hazel spent many years in Eastpoint, Florida raising her family. She moved to Panama City, Florida when she married her late husband John Henry Gill where she attended Highland Park Apostolic Holiness Church. Hazel was known for her love of animals. She raised Yorkshires and took in all the strays that came along. Hazel enjoyed fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Gill; parents, George and Olvie Grimes; one sister, two brothers; two great-grandchildren, Dewayne Allen Page and Brayden Cody Brannen. Hazel is survived by four children, Nelda Chisholm of Eastpoint, Florida, Charles Brannen (Arnetta) of Eastpoint, Florida, Gerald Brannen of Panama City, Florida and Gia Gill of Panama City, Florida; one step daughter, Tammy Shouppe (Eddie) of Pensacola, Florida; one brother Glen Grimes; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Eastpoint Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 under the pavilion with Pastor Thomas McCroan officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
