Henry "Edward" Harris Sr.

Henry Edward Harris Sr. age 79, better known as Edward to his family and friends passed away at his residence in Eastpoint, Florida on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born on July 8, 1944 to the late Clarence Edward Harris and Nellie Cooper Harris. Edward spent his childhood and adolescence in Holmes County, Florida until moving to Franklin County. He worked for many years as a commercial fisherman and beekeeping. Edward was a true outdoorsman, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. He was also very talented at woodworking, making all types of chests, furniture, and cabinets. Edward will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Esther Harris of Eastpoint, Florida; three children, Henry Edward Harris Jr (Regina) of Eastpoint, Florida, Sherrel McCalpin of Eastpoint, Florida, and Melanie Dearinger (Cookie) of Apalachicola, Florida; two brothers, Johnny Harris of Eastpoint, Florida and Gerald Harris of Sumatra, Florida; one sister, Marynell Rogers (Frank) of Sumatra, Florida; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Eastpoint Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Monday, October 9, 2023.
