James Franklin Dandy, more affectionately known as Jim passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his residence in White City, Florida. He was born in Birdine, Kentucky on September 4, 1939 to the late Tony Dandy and Pansy Hollifield Dandy. Jim joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and served his country proudly until his retirement in 1961. After the military, Jim worked at the box plant in Port St. Joe and was a local mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Jim was also a lifelong member of Oak Grove Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Montez Dandy; granddaughter, Shyann Rogers; three brothers, Paul Chester Dandy, Tom Dandy, and Phillip Dandy.
Jim is survived by three children, Tony Dandy and wife Phyllis of Port St. Joe, Florida, Lonnie Dandy and wife Sonia of Mount Carmel, Tennessee, and Tina Dandy Durham and husband Ron of White City, Florida; one brother Richard Dandy and wife Janet of Defiance, Ohio; one sister, Mona Goodman and husband Ron of Defiance, Ohio; seven grandchildren, O’Dell Dandy (Peggy), Joshua Dandy, MaKenna Mathis (Scott), Cody Dandy (Kasey), Taylor Tyler, Jarrod Banks, and Parker Durham. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time at Oak Grove Church in Port St. Joe, Florida on Thursday, June 15, 2023 with Pastor Dave Fernandez officiating. Committal service will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M.
