James Joseph Bolduc, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. He was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on September 10, 1946 the first child to the late Joseph F. Sr. and Phyllis M. (Gaudette) Bolduc. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Dorothy, siblings Robert and Elaine, and his dear friends who became family, Don and Pat Dieck.
He is survived by his children, Kristen (Louis) and Garrett, and his granddaughters, Maddy, Noelle, and Onora, along with his siblings Joseph Jr., Barbara, Paul, and Jeanne, and his step-brother Robert.
James, affectionately known as Jim, Jimmy, or Jimmer to his friends and family, lived a full life. His early adulthood was marked by a series of adventures, including the over ten years he worked and traveled with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Known as “Pop” around the circus, he started out by selling souvenirs and worked up to running the Concessions section as Manager.
After the circus, he settled in Panama City, Florida, where he was a successful business owner and active member of the community. Jim lived in Panama City for over forty years and loved his life in Florida. When he wasn’t working or serving with the Lions Club, you could find him watching the Patriots, heading out to Shell Island on his boat or golfing with friends.
Even after “retirement,” Jim stayed active and could often be seen riding his bike around town, volunteering with the Salvation Army and visiting with friends at his favorite local watering holes.
More than anything else, Jim was a loving father and proud and devoted grandfather. His daughter will always remember driving the cart and having milkshakes while they played golf together. His granddaughters are thankful for weekly Skype calls, trips to the water park, unlimited cookies and a Grandpa who remembered every holiday and birthday. He will always be in our hearts.
No services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
