Janice "Sweetpea" Whitaker

Janice “Sweetpea” Whitaker age 74 of Eastpoint, Florida went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was born on September 6, 1949 in Blakely, Georgia and moved to Franklin County when she was twelve. Janice spent many years working as a CNA for various facilities. She was dedicated to her Lord and Savior; enjoyed going to church and always helped those in need. Janice enjoyed spending quiet time by the water at Sportsman’s Lodge reading her Bible. She always looked forward to going somewhere or being with her grandchildren, but her favorite moments were spent with her two girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jesse Lominec and Bertha Holland Lominec; two sisters, Sandra Moore and Debra Shuler and one brother, Howard Lominec.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Katrina Henry (Jerry Strickland) and Tammy Shiver, both of Eastpoint, Florida; two sisters, Melba Page of St. James, Florida and Wanda Donavan of Columbus, Georgia; five grandchildren, Mark Henry Derek Henry (Whitney), Nicole McNair, Corey Ward, and Kyle Branch; nine great-grandchildren, Malen Henry, Krissy Kelley, Braxton Henry, Hunter Ward, JC Ward, Briar Ward, Khali McNair, Beckham McNair, and Bennett McNair.

Funeral services will be held at Deliverance Tabernacle Church in Eastpoint, Florida on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Eastern Time with Pastor Larry Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Eastpoint Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time
