Jason Mica Gainer, better known as "Mic", lifelong resident of Cottondale, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born to the late Robert Jefferson Gainer Sr. and Martha Joan Dasinger Gainer on March 14, 1966, in Marianna and was a graduate of Cottondale High School. Over the years, Mic worked for Russell's, Riverside Uniforms, Unifirst and was currently employed by the Family Dollar Distribution Center. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed being at "The Camp" in River Styx, running dogs or fishing in a slough with his family and friends. Mic had a passion for sports and dedicated years to coaching little league baseball. He was also a die hard University of Alabama fan. Most of all, Mic was an honorable man; loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter in law, Angela Gainer.
His memory will live on through his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Karen Gainer; three children, Buck Gainer, Beth Daniels (Kyle), and Caleb Gainer; two brothers, Jeff Gainer (Marsha), and Keith Gainer (Kim); four grandchildren, Stephanie Daniels, Lukas Daniels, Madelyn Gainer, and Isabelle Gainer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida with Brother James Elmore officiating.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
