Kathleen Elizabeth Dowd

Kathleen Elizabeth Dowd, born April 6, 1943, in Washington D.C, the only child of Kathryn Margaret Duddenhaefer Dowd and Joseph V. Dowd. The family relocated to St. Joe, Florida around 1947. Kathleen attended Port St. Joe Elementary School and Port St. Joe Middle School and began High School there. She completed high School at Stone Ridge Country Day School in Washington, D.C. where she was active in a number of outside activities as well as being a member of National Junior Honor Society. She then returned home and attended Chipola Junior College, along with former St. Joe classmates. She left this life on March 15, 2022, and will be interred in the family plot at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe on March 21, 2022, at 1:00 EST. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be conducted by Father Mathew Abraham. There will be a viewing 15 minutes prior to the Mass. She was a faithful Catholic all of her life. She lived in Panama City for several years and was active at St. Dominic's Catholic Church. When her health failed, she entered Cross Shores Care Center in Port St. Joe. She found it amusing that her latter years were to be spent at the site of her elementary school. Kathleen was preceded in death by both parents. She left a cousin, Delores Lasher of Pennsylvania and classmates from Port St. Joe who were with her at the end. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
