Marjorie Rose Solomon, lifelong resident of Apalachicola, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born in Apalachicola on February 20, 1934 to the late John Donato and Mary Tarantino Donato. Marjorie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a homemaker, devoted wife of sixty-two years to the late Roy Solomon and a loving mother to her children. Marjorie had many talents such as sewing and crafts, but her passion was painting. She loved her community and was an active volunteer within the St. Patricks Church and Weems Memorial Hospital.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Rocky & Buddy Donato and granddaughter Samantha Solomon.


Marjorie is survived by her son John C. Solomon and wife Penny of Eastpoint, Florida; daughter, Sharon K. Griffin and husband Paul of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Hayes Philyaw and Fiancé Chelsea of Orlando, Florida, Reagen Solomon of Eastpoint, Florida, Shawn Chisholm and wife Jessica of Eastpoint, Florida and nephew Earl Solomon and wife Valerie

of St. George Island, Florida


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Apalachicola with Father Roger Latosynski officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola, Florida.

A time of visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. until the start of the service.


Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
