Mary Jo Bishop

Mary Jo Bishop, a cherished member of her community and a beloved family member, passed away at her home in Wewahitchka, Florida, on February 6, 2025, at the age of 56. She was on born on December 28, 1968 to Ronnie and Faye Bishop.

Mary Jo dedicated many years of her life working with the State of Florida, retiring from Gulf Correctional Institution as a Sergeant. Her career was a testament to her strength and dedication. 

Outside of work, Mary Jo had a deep-seated love for riding her horse, a passion that brought her immense joy. However, her proudest accomplishments were her seven grandchildren: Bentley, Zoey, Wyatt, Justin, Sophia, Madison, and William "Billy Frank." She cherished the time spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Mary Jo is survived by her parents, Ronnie and Faye Bishop of Wewahitchka, Florida, her son Ronnie Brake (Stacy) of Wewahitchka, Florida, her daughter Sherry Brake of Tallahassee, Florida, and her two sisters Sheila Baker (Jamie) and Rhonda Bishop, both of Wewahitchka, Florida.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on February 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM Central Time, at Roberts Cemetery located at 502 Roberts Cemetery Road, Wewahitchka, Florida, 32465. Mary Jo will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she brought kindness and love into the lives of those around her.
