Mrs. Mercedes Butler age 85 of Wewahitchka, Florida entered into rest on Saturday, August 13, 2022. She received the gift of life in Liberty County, Florida on January 15, 1937 to the late Anthony Joseph Brown and Flossie Eutsay. Mrs. Butler spent time in Franklin and Gulf County before moving to Louisiana with her husband, Robert. They returned to Wewahitchka, Florida in 1986 where she was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in St. Joe Beach. Before retirement, Mrs. Butler worked many years as a housekeeper for various people. She enjoyed reading, studying history, designing flower arrangements and decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David Jackson and Henry Rochelle Jr. and eleven siblings. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of fifty-three years, Robert Butler of Wewahitchka, Florida; two sons, Ronald Brown (Marjorie) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Anthony Jackson (Maria) of Port Charlotte, Florida; one daughter, Robbie Wells of Wewahitchka, Florida; one sister, Sarah James of St. Augustine, Florida; twenty-eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of friends and relatives. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in St. Joe Beach, Florida. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
