Nova Marie Dempsey

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our precious baby girl, Nova Marie Dempsey, who left us too soon on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Port St. Joe, Florida. Born on September 12, 2024, in Panama City, Florida, Nova brought a light into this world that will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her.

From the moment she arrived, Nova was known as the happiest, healthiest, and chunkiest baby. Her sweet and loving nature was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of witnessing her radiant spirit. Whether she was curled up in someone's arms or being cradled by her loving family, she thrived in their warmth. Nova’s curiosity shone through, as she was often noted to be quite the nosey little one, always eager to watch the world around her, especially when it came to her family's favorite pastime—football. Her little giggles and enchanting smiles filled the air with joy, making every moment spent with her a memory to treasure.

Nova leaves behind her devoted parents, father Alvin Lee Dempsey III and mother Marissa Christine Startt, who cherished every second they spent with her. She is lovingly remembered by her doting maternal grandfather, Daniel Startt, and her paternal grandparents, "Granny" Erica Webb and "Papa" Jabbar Alexander, along with paternal grandfather Alvin Dempsey Jr., and her grandparents Sandy and Missy Quinn.

She will be missed by her two brothers, Teagan Dempsey and Daniel Davis, and her sister, Ella Grace Dempsey, who will always hold on to the sweet memories of their time together. Nova’s loving family also includes her uncles, Tad Russell, Daniel Startt, Andrew Startt, Gene Quinn, Javiun Langston, Rakeem Quinn, and Johnavin Dempsey, as well as her aunts, Tasmie Russell, Jai Dempsey, and Joi Dempsey. She is also survived by numerous great aunts, great uncles, and cousins, all of whom are heartbroken by her departure.

Though Nova’s time with us was far too fleeting, her memory will forever remain in our hearts. We invite you to join us in celebrating the beautiful life of baby Nova Marie Dempsey. This celebration of life will be held on December 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time at Comforter Funeral Home, located at 601 Long Ave, Port St Joe, FL 32456.
