Peggy Thorne Buzzett

Port St. Joe, Florida

Peggy Thorne Buzzett, age of 78 of Port St. Joe, Florida transitioned to eternal life on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Panama City, Florida.  She was born on May 4, 1946,the seventh of twelve children, in Redbay, Florida to the late Jack and Grace Thorne.

Peggy was survived by her children, Towanna Ashworth of Port St. Joe, Florida, Michael Ashworth of Bridge City, Texas, and Crystal Berg (Chuck Smith) of Hosford, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley Palermo (Ian), Cassidy Ashworth, Ryan Berg, Dakoda Berg, and Megan Hill; sisters Betty Lee, Margaret Barlow, Joyce Waters, Theresa Redd, and Becky Adams, and her brothers, Jack Thorne and Randall Thorne. She will also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Bernie Buzzett, along with her parents, Jack and Grace Thorne. Peggy was also preceded in death by her sister Mavis Foster, brother Olin Thorne, sister Jackie Brooks, and sister Jennifer Burns.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and teaching children's Sunday School at church.

A visitation honoring Peggy will take place on March 8, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Anchor Point Pentecostal Church located at 508 Sixteenth Street, Port St. Joe, Florida. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will begin 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers,  the family requests donations be made to Ancho Point Pentecostal Church in honor of Mrs. Peggy.

She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all that knew her.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
