Phalere, “Mimi”, Cannon, 83, of St. Joe Beach, went to Heaven peacefully in the presence of her husband and three daughters. She was born in Brooks County, Georgia and resided at St. Joe Beach for 53 years. Phalere loved her husband and family passionately and rejoiced with every milestone and prayed them through every trial. She worked as a seashell jewelry maker in Sarasota Florida. After moving to Moultrie, Georgia she worked at Spencefield Air Base. Upon moving to St. Joe Beach, she was homemaker and later worked as a secretary at Basic Magnesium. She loved God, old Southern Gospel Music, church, sewing, and gardening. Her biggest smiles though came through time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren. That beautiful smile was contagious to all. Unlike the footprints on the shore,
Phalere’s footprints will continue to leave their mark on our hearts forever.
Phalere’s memory will always be cherished by her loving husband of twenty-seven years, Fred Cannon of St. Joe Beach, Florida, five daughters: Kathy Gray Sheehan (Mark) of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Karen Gray Minger (Gary) of Port St. Joe, Florida, Gwen Ramsey Earnest (Tommy) of Lynn Haven, Florida, Teresa Cannon Haisten (James) of Panama City, Florida and Tanya Cannon Strange (Tony) of Wewahitchka, Florida, two sisters: Margie Castleberry of Savannah, Georgia and Carolyn Lewis (Darrell) of Tallahassee, Florida, ten grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Julian Gray and Vernon Ramsey; two sisters, and four brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Eastern time on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Holly Hill Cemetery pavilion with Pastor Dave Fernandez and Pastor David Nichols officiating. A time of visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.
The family of Mrs. Cannon would like to extend a special thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice, Beverly Maddox, Polly Smith, and Keesha for all the love, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to Beach Baptist Chapel (311 Columbus
