Robert Earl Butler age 80 of Wewahitchka, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born in Silver Creek, Mississippi on February 5, 1943 to the late W.A. Butler and Mary Katherine Hill Butler. Robert spent time in Apalachicola and Louisiana before moving to Gulf County in 1986. He worked as a commercial fisherman for thirty years before becoming a construction worker and finally a grocery store stocker. Robert enjoyed working in his yard, watching wrestling on T.V., and walking the family dog “Pete”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mercedes Butler; two stepsons, David Jackson and Henry Rochelle Jr.
Robert is survived by one stepdaughter, Robbie Wells of Wewahitchka, Florida; two step sons, Ronald Brown (Margaret) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Anthony Jackson (Maria) of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
