Robert Earl Gardner, age 87 of Saint George Island, Florida passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born in Watertown Massachusetts on May 9, 1935. "Bob" as he was known spent a large portion of life in Tallahassee and St. George Island, Florida. Bob was a career salesman for Economics Laboratories for over 30 years. Bob served his country with honor in both the US Coast Guard and National Guard Special Forces. He was an avid golfer and frequent deep sea fisherman. Robert loved traveling around the world with his wife and two grandsons Michael and Matthew. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Elizabeth, and three brothers, Everett, Norman, and Ronnie. Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jan Gardner, daughter, Kimberly, sons, Robert and Jeffrey, son in law Michael Leighton Sr, and grandchildren, Michael Leighton Jr and Matthew Leighton. Memorialization will be by cremation. A celebration of life will be arranged and announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
