Sarah Marie Klawonn , age 83, born on August 9, 1938 in East St. Louis, St. Clair County, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Barbara Higi and Charles Adam Klawonn; one son, John Adam Boone.
Sarah was married on October 17, 1959 to Patrick Boone. To this union there were born seven children, Charles, Teresa, Christina, Julianna, Angelina, John, and Barbara. She loved her independence and would always refer to the Frank Sinatra song, “I did it my way”.
Sarah leaves a legacy of seven children, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, MaryLou and Helen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and the many people that knew her as Ms. Sarah.
She worked many jobs besides raising seven children. The two she was known for were rocking babies at the ABC Learning Center and cashier for Duren’s Piggly Wiggly, where she was known for her dangly earrings and brightly colored nails. Sarah loved to dress up for all holidays to greet all those who came to shop.
She passed quietly in her home early Saturday morning on July 16, 2022.
Sarah was many things to many people and will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida with Pastor Glenn Davis officiating. Serving as honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Chuck Boone Jr., Brandie Carter, Jessie Carter, Joshua Carter, Justin Dobbins, and Mikel Boone
A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. EST until 7:00 P.M. EST on Monday, July 18, 2022 in the Highland View Baptist Church.
