Sherry Jemmima Perkins

Sherry Jemmima Perkins age 61 of Apalachicola, Florida passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. She was born in Copperhill, Tennessee on November 22, 1960 and spent most of her life Maryville, Tennessee and Blue Ridge, Georgia, before moving to Apalachicola in 2010. She enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and fishing. Sherry loved people and she lived the life she wanted to live. She was preceded in death by her father, George McKinney and mother, Shirley Farmer; one daughter, Hyapatia Leigh Burrell; special niece, Brittany Dugan; maternal and paternal grandparents. Sherry is survived by her special companion, Robert Russell of Apalachicola, Florida; one son, Rusty Perkins of Maryville, Tennessee; one sister, Angela McKinney (Dean Dugan) of Cherokee, North Carolina; one uncle, Wayne Farmer (Shelby) of Hiawasee, Georgia; special niece, Ashley Dugan of Cherokee, North Carolina; great niece and nephew, Lainey and Trenten; special sister in law, Charlotte Schneider (Dell) of Apalachicola, Florida; special brother in law, Carlos Russell (Rosa Lee) of Eastpoint, Florida; a host of cousins and her special K-9 companion, “Norma Jean”. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Akins Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Georgia. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 PM. until the time of the service. Local arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida. Georgia arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Akins Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
