Stephen John Holmes

Stephen John Holmes, 75, of McDonough, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born in Sutton Bridge, England and moved to the United States at the age of 6. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he was a decorated combat veteran having participated in the Vietnam War. He retired from Clayton County Public Schools as Chief Information Officer and from there went on to start several successful businesses. In retirement he loved perfecting recipes and spoiling his grandchildren.

He will be remembered by his loving wife Vonda of 53 years, sons Chad and Nick, daughter-in-laws Kristina and Trisha, grandchildren Bethany, Chloe, Jake, Joe, Marley, Nick and Riley. At this time, the family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date. He had a huge heart for the less fortunate, in his honor, we ask that you make a donation to your local food pantry or humane society.
