Stephen Rucker Buchanan age 69 of WindMark Beach, Florida passed away at home on Monday, May 6, 2024. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 14, 1954 to the late Jack Buchanan and Margaret Eleanor Rucker Buchanan. Steve was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, lived in West Palm Beach and lived for many years in Dunwoody, Georgia until moving to WindMark Beach three years ago. He attended the University of Florida, and even though he graduated from the Presbyterian College with a Bachelor’s Degree, Steve remained a die hard Gator fan throughout life. Steve has a long career in medical sales, marketing and product development. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar and was a part of worship bands at church. Most recently he played at WindMark Beach Church where he attended. He was an amazing chef and looked forward to preparing meals with wine pairings for friends and family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Nancy Buchanan of WindMark Beach, Florida; one daughter, Amy Vanderveer (Chance) of Houston, Texas; one sister in law, Carol Hogue of the Florida Keys; three grandchildren, Gabriel (Liz), Jack, and Kaelyn. He is also survived by his K-9 companion, Mr. Bojangles.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at WindMark Beach Church with Pastor Scott White officiating. Casual beach attire please.
