Theodore "Ted" Stephen Turza

Theodore Stephen Turza more affectionately known as “Ted”, passed away peacefully

on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home in

Springfield, FL. He was a resident there for over 2 years. He was born in Cicero, Illinois on

November 6, 1929. Mr. Turza was a proud member of the United States Air Force and served for

just over 20 years. He retired honorably as a Master Sergeant. He was also a Freemason and

Shriner and volunteered many hours with both organizations. Ted was a generous man with his

talents and offerings, and did his best to help those in need.

Though originally from Illinois, he spent over thirty years in beautiful Gulf County, Florida.

If Ted was not in Gulf County, he could be found spending time on his private island in Northern

Wisconsin. Ted loved to go fishing and help others with projects. He thoroughly enjoyed keeping

busy and working with his hands. He will be sorely missed by many.

Theodore was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Margaret; wife, Nancy “Nan” Turza;

brother, Robert Turza; and sister, Mildred Ortner.

He is survived by his children, Carl Turza of DesPlaines, Illinois, and Karen Turza Boylan

(Michael) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and grandchildren, Stephanie Turza, Natalie Turza,

Nicky Turza, Michael Turza, and Grace Turza. He is also survived by several nieces and

nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time at

Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe,

Florida.
