Vaughn Edgar Matherne

Vaughn Edgar Matherne age 68 of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Houma, Louisiana on July 5, 1954 and spent his young adult life there where he owned a paint and body shop. In 1995 Vaughn moved to Foley, Alabama and would spend the next years living along the coast of Alabama and Florida before settling in Port St. Joe, Florida in 2019. He was a jokester, an avid LSU fan and enjoyed music. Vaughn loved spending time on the water fishing. He cherished time spent with family and friends. Vaughn looked forward to cooking and entertaining his guest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eustace Matherne and Velia Dupre Matherne; brother, Larry Matherne and stepson, Jamie Nichols.

Vaughn is survived by his spouse of twelve years, Sharon Nichols; children, Scott Matherne, Emily Matherne (Danny), Abbey Guidry, and Logan Matherne (Jenna); brothers, Lance Matherne, Glynn Matherne , and Mark Matherne ; sisters, Deanna Webb, Debra Fabre, Nona Hebert, and Linda Ledbetter; grandchildren, Ashley, Kadin, Katie, Julia, Lainey, Erica, Alyssa, Cullen, Mckenzie, and Micayla; great grandchildren, Mason and Lukas. He is also survived by his Port St. Joe family.
