William "Bill" Henry Mcdaniel

William Henry McDaniel, affectionately known as "Bill" of Wewahitchka, Florida departed this life on Friday, October 11, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on December 31, 1959 to the late Jimmy and Joyce McDaniel. The second of four children born to this union. We often joked that his momma said, "he had to be born before the first of the year so she could claim him on their taxes". Preceding Bill in death was his older brother Paul McDaniel.

Left to mourn his passing are his son Bryan McDaniel; former wife, Kim McDaniel; sister, Lori (Andy) Attaway; brother, Clyde (Heather) McDaniel; granddaughter, Natalie Brown; longtime companion, Carolyn Grenslade; dear friends, Ken and Lisa Strickland, and Lamar Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. As well as many friends, neighbors, and other loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Bill joined the United States Army on August 15, 1977, honorably serving our country both at home and abroad. On August 15, 1980, he was relieved of duty, returning to his beloved hometown of Wewahitchka.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman that spent countless hours enjoying the outdoors. Bill was an expert marksman, always able to place meat on the table. He was a good neighbor and friend, always lending a helping hand to those in need.

Bill was a painter by trade, working many years for Eastern Ship Builders, but he was a jack of al trades. If he could tinker with it, he could fix it.

Although Bill has passed from this life unto his eternal home, his memory will love in our hearts. From the many antics he pulled, the jokes he told, the funny stories he shared, he leaves a piece of himself with each of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 161 Mitchel Road, Wewahitchka, Florida 32465 on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Central Time with Bill's great nephew, Eli McDaniel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westside Baptist Church (842 W River Road, Wewahitchka, Florida 32465) in Bill's memory.
