William Wadsworth McLemore of Port St. Joe, Florida, better known as Will to his friends and family, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the age of 61. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on June 27, 1961 where he spent most of his childhood. Will moved to Wewahitchka as a teenager and graduated from Wewahitchka High School in 1980. After high school, Will spent some time working on offshore oil rigs before returning to Gulf County and taking over his father’s store. He was the owner of the Dixie Dandy for over forty years. Will was an adventurous person who enjoyed spending time on the water with his family, fishing, scuba diving, and captaining sail boats. He loved traveling, snow skiing, and was an avid basketball fan. Later in life, Will looked forward to playing poker with friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Virgin Nichols; stepfather, John Nichols; two brothers, Sterling McLemore and Tranum McLemore.
Will is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Glenda McLemore; father, Klenton McLemore; stepmother, Kamala McLemore; four children, Justin Rhodes (Kaci), Shannon Wilson, Zack Fitzpatrick, and Jenifer Quinn (Roman); six brothers, Lee McLemore (Tricia), Davis McLemore, Klent McLemore, Mitchell McLemore (Sherry), Scott McLemore, and Stanley Frye; one sister, Eloise Frye; twelve grand children, Kaleb, Landen, Kaley, Easton, Londyn, Holden, Gideon, Jace, Khai, Talon, Jacks, and Oaklan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Central Time, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Wewahitchka, Florida with Pastor Joey Smith and Bo Wilson officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, FL.
